Delray Beach [September 7, 2004]
|
Hi everyone out there in the world of cyber space dating! We hope that you enjoyed reading our first newsletter and are anxious to learn more about all the
places to go, and fun things to do to meet other singles in South Florida's dating world.
As promised in our last newsletter, this month we are going to focus our attention to,
and concentrate on, one of the hot spots in Palm Beach County.
Welcome to Delray Beach- home of hundreds of new restaurants and clubs all located within just seven blocks and no more than a mile east of I95. Without any doubt, it is quite apparent that Atlantic Avenue is giving both Clematis Street in West Palm Beach and Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale a run for their money. Every weekend night and most weekday nights the Avenue is filled with both diners and partiers… people who just want to get together and have fun.
Delray Beach is a friendly little community with a true small town feeling, yet overflowing with a busy nightlife. People of all ages come from many of the surrounding areas to listen to live music, hang out at the clubs or enjoy a meal at one of the numerous flamboyant and showy eateries inside or outside at the curbside tables.
Within these few blocks chances are that there is something for everyone's taste……
City Limits (29 SE 2nd Ave) is Delray's largest live music club. Literally hundreds of people can easily be found at the patio bars. You can either join the dance crowd moving to the sounds of live bands or sit at the tables at one of four different bars.
This is a great place for a night out with the girls, along with Sopra (110 E. Atlantic Ave)- a restaurant and lounge that is sizzling with dance music.
For a night out with the guys, go to the Blue Anchor Pub (804 E. Atlantic Ave). They serve beer, bangers and mash.
After midnight on weekend nights, Dakotah (270 E. Atlantic Ave) magically changes from a trendy restaurant to a flashy dance club until the early hours of the morning.
If you prefer to dance earlier in the evening in the bar section of a restaurant
then go to Mancini's )290 E. Atlantic Ave) or visit Deluxe (16 E. Atlantic Ave), a very imaginative club where you can just hang out or relax on couches that will most definitely remind you of actual beds.
For those who are more into listening to local talent and even being entertained
on occasion by magicians, we suggest that you check out Dada (52 N. Swinton Ave).
Certainly we must include Elwood's (301 E. Atlantic Ave) as part of Atlantic Avenue's famous sites, located just across from the railroad tracks.
This is another place where you can find live music.
If alternative music is more your style then perhaps you would better
enjoy Bull Bar (2 E. Atlantic Ave). This is a "what you see is what you get" bar with only a few tables and some seats along the wall.
On a different note entirely….TENNIS ENTHUSIASTS- go to the 2004 Millennium International Championships
that will be held September 13th through the 19th at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, also on Atlantic Avenue and watch some of the top ranking players compete. Who knows… Mr. or Ms. Right might be sitting there next to you, behind you or in front of you!
We hope that you found this month's edition of our newsletter informative and that
you will check back with us next month to see where or what we will be exploring
in the month of October.Until then….…..happy dating!
