Music is definitely something that touches all of us at some level in one way or another. When we are in love we have a special song and when we are not in love but want to be, often times we hear a song that makes us remember when we were in love.

Musical events are a perfect venue for meeting and making a connection with a new person, since it is an experience that so many individuals can attend alone.

Well, the good news is that during both the summer and fall months in South Florida (in the tri county area) there is a jam-packed concert calendar where there will be a variety of music to suit everyone's individual taste. The agenda along with the list of performers is almost endless in its diversity.

Topping off the impressive list is world renowned Paul McCartney who will headline the show at American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd.) in Miami on September 16 th followed by Marc Anthony , Alejandro Fernandez and Chayanne who will be in concert together on September 17 th . The equally famous Rolling Stones and well-known guitarist Carlos Santana will perform on October 17 th .

Following the success of the summer of 2004, MTV's Video Music Awards will return again to American Airlines Arena at the end of August for another live telecast where several thousand people are expected to attend. It will be broadcast live on Sunday, August 28 th at 8 p.m.

Traveling to Broward County …….

Beginning in June and lasting through July 22 nd , Starlight Musicals will offer weekly summer concerts on Friday evenings from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale . Each week a different band will perform at the park, free of charge. Bring a picnic basket and look forward to having a romantic evening dancing under the stars! On July 12 th , The Office Depot Center ( 2555 Panther Parkway ) in Sunrise will headline Vonzell Solomon , Carrie Underwood , Bo Bice and many more stars from the television hit American Idol. July 17 th will feature Destiny's Child , Beyonce Knowles along with a few others. And the punk and rock trio that call themselves Green Day will perform in August.

The sudden large amount of punks fondly known as Warped will return again this year in August at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre ( 433 Plaza Real ) in Boca Raton. Warped consists of more than 79 different acts that perform on nine stages.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino ( 1 Seminole Way ) in Hollywood will feature such famous acts as Styx & REO Speedwagon with the Outlaws in July and crooner Tim McGraw in August.

Heading further north to West Palm Beach ….

The Sound Advice Amphitheater ( 601-7 Sanbury's Way ) in West Palm Beach will be host to several rock and rollers including…. The Black Crowes and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Judas Priest and Queensruyche together in June, Dave Matthews Band and the Back Street Boys in July, Eninem in August and Coldplay in September.

For those music lovers that may prefer a smaller venue there are many shows that offer a smaller version for a more intimate night out. The Jackie Gleason Theater ( 1700 Washington Avenue ) in Miami Beach and Mizner Park Amphitheater ( 590 Plaza Real ) in Boca Raton , The Bamboo Room ( 25S. J Street ) in Lake Worth in addition to many clubs like the Factory in Fort Lauderdale will be host to many, many and many more entertainers.
