2004 NEW YEAR'S EVE [December 31, 2004]

We thought that we might dedicate this newsletter to those of you who plan on partying to welcome in the fast approaching year of 2005. Within the tri-county there are literally hundreds of places to choose from. Although the list goes on and on we have randomly selected just a few hot spots to mention.

Let's begin in Miami Dade...
Head to Miami Beach where you will find festivities galore at The Delano Hotel (1685 Collins Ave., 305-674-6430). There will be a light show, fireworks and music in a Latin motif.

Go to Mango's Tropical Café (900 Ocean Drive, 305-673-4422) to dance until the sun comes up while enjoying dinner accompanied by a bottle of Moet White Star Champagne.

The Sandbar Lounge (6752 Collins Ave., 305-865-1752) includes free party favors, live entertainment, a midnight champagne toast, and a 2:30 a.m. breakfast buffet with live entertainment.

Liza Minnelli will be welcoming in the New Year at 1501 Barton G. (15th Street and Ocean Drive, 305-672-8881) following dinner with unlimited champagne and dancing.

The Ritz-Carlton (1 Lincoln Road, 786-276-4006) will be ringing in the New Year in an American style with dinner, live entertainment and a champagne toast. On the pool deck there will be all night dancing to 70's and 80's hits.

To welcome in the New Year in old world style go to The Biltmore Hotel (1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables, 305-445-1926) where they will be featuring a glass of champagne, a full dinner and an after dinner party.

Now off to Broward County...
The intimate neighborhood music pub Alligator Alley (1321 E. Commercial Blvd., Oakland Park, 954-771-2220) will be featuring an assortment of music including soul, rock, reggae, etc.

Automatic (Las Olas Riverfront, 15 W. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-522-8585) is a bar, grill and pool hall that will have a DJ and a midnight champagne toast.

The renowned Howl at the Moon/Sloppy Joe's, Beach Place (17 S. Atlantic Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-522-7553) will offer a dueling piano bar where you can reserve chair or a barstool.

Martunies (10311 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs, 954-752-3227) is identified by their diversity in martini drinks. Bar seating includes an appetizer, a drink and a champagne toast.

Jazz lovers... go to O'Hara's (772 E. Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale 954-524-1764) where you can also enjoy the sounds of blues, rock and disco.

Famous vocalist Jon Secada will be performing at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino (5550 NW 40 St., Coconut Creek, 866-222-7466)

The harmonious sound of the well-known duo Hall and Oats will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (5731 State Road 7, Hollywood, 954-523-3309).

Let's travel north to West Palm Beach...
With an oceanfront setting, Boston's on the Beach (40 S. Ocean Blvd, Delray Beach, 561-278-3364) will offer live music, dinner and dancing.

Their ninth annual New Year's Eve party begins at 9 p.m. at City Limits (29 SE Second Ave., Delray Beach, 561-279-8222).

The sound of famous B.B. King, can be heard at The Mizner Park Amphitheater (590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, 561-966-3309)

On the funny side, visit the New York Comedy Club (8221 Glades Road, Boca Raton, 561-470-6887) where both the first and second shows include a champagne toast at midnight.

For a New Year's Eve Bash and Tent Party Show with eight indoor and outdoor bars go to E.R. Bradley's Saloon (104 Clematis St., West Palm Beach, 561-833-3520).
